A Day in Velvet: Lisio Foundation Workshop at Textile Society of America Symposium.

On the 19th of September 2012, Julie Holyoke will hold a full-day workshop at the Washington Court Hotel on figured velvet. Sample analysis and documentation will be praticed, design and production of traditional and rare velvets studied. For information and enrollment please visit TSA website

“Studying Figured Weaving at the Lisio Foundation”
At UNCA Kellogg Conference Center, located next to the CCCD

LECTURE INFORMATION:
Julie Holyoke, instructor at the Lisio Foundation, will give a lecture titled, “Studying Figured Weaving at the Lisio Foundation,” 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 at the UNC Asheville Kellogg Center, 1181 Broyles Rd., Hendersonville. The Lisio Foundation is located near Florence, Italy with a mission to renew and hand on the finest and oldest techniques for hand-weaving silks and precious metals.  For two decades, the Lisio Foundation has trained teachers, designers, artists and weavers in the art of jacquard design and weaving.  Instructor Julie Holyoke will speak about the Foundation's unique programs and resources.
