C.I.E.T.A. General Assembly (Copenaghen
During the upcoming C.I.E.T.A. conference in Copenhagen, TSA and CIETA member Julie Holyoke of the Lisio Foundation in Florence, Italy will present a joint paper with Barbara Czaya-Szewczak, conservator at Wilanów Palace Museum, Warsaw on the reproduction of a 18th century ‘mirror’ velvet. Dr. Czaya-Szewczak will speak of the historical context of the project, whereas the Holyoke will document the reconstruction of the technique employed to weave a laminated cut velvet for the King’s bedroom at Wilanów Palace.
