Project with the “Fondo Veronese” Lampas for the Chapel
The Lisio Foundation's “Fondo Veronese” lampas is a historic fabric of great value, whose name and design are closely linked to the iconic Lisio brocade called “Veronese”. It was selected for the creation of the ornamental bands, the panel above the altar and the one below, as a symbol of Italian craftsmanship excellence.
The ornamental bands on the pilasters and the panel above the altar were made using 100% red silk ‘Fondo Veronese’ lampas fabric. The perimeter borders are made of 22% white gold metal and were applied by hand. The internal structures are made of 100% linen and the linings are 100% cotton, both entirely applied by hand.
The altar frontal
Created using 100% red silk “fondo veronese” lampas, with 22% white gold metal edging applied by hand. The pelican has been embroidered in gold on a sunburst pattern in the centre of the altar frontal.
