NUME (NUovo MEdioevo), Research Group on the Latin Middle Ages, was founded in Florence in 2015 with the aim of enhancing, promoting, and disseminating knowledge of medieval cultural heritage in all its forms, with particular attention to Western Europe. To this end, in collaboration with public and private institutions, professionals, and scholars in Italy and Europe, it publishes scientific articles in the field, regularly organizes dedicated conferences, develops interdisciplinary projects, oversees the publication of scholarly series, and provides research support and services.

The team of experts and lecturers from the Lisio Foundation’s two-year course in “Historical and Stage Costume Tailoring” took part in the Sixth Medieval Studies Cycle organized by NUME with the panel “Living the Middle Ages. Experimentation, historical reconstructions, replicas, and dissemination as tools for social inclusion and local cultural enhancement.”

The conference — originally scheduled to take place in person at the former Il Fuligno Convent in Florence, on 8–9 June 2020 — was held online thanks to the possibility of submitting video presentations or PowerPoint presentations of the numerous contributions.

Below, we would like to highlight the important work of study and scientific research carried out by sharing the materials prepared by the renowned NUME organization.

All video contributions were produced for the 6th Medieval Studies Cycle, held online on 8–9 June 2020 in Florence, organized by the NUME Cultural Association – Research Group on the Latin Middle Ages, and moved online due to the COVID-19 health emergency.
