The course is part of “ISTÓS School of Textile Weaving Specialization”, thanks to the contribution of the pilot project for cultural, social, and economic regeneration “Rocca Calascio - Luce d'Abruzzo” of the Municipality of Calascio, selected by the Abruzzo Region within the framework of the PNRR measure of the Ministry of Culture (Line A - M1.C3 – Investment 2.1 – “Attractiveness of Villages”), funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

The upcycling course “Il giorno della Taranta” aims to create a handmade bag and/or beanie hat starting from an iconic traditional item: the Abruzzo blanket. The manufacturing technique — curated by the Fade Out Label Atelier — will consist of transferring the pattern onto the blanket, cutting and assembling using sewing machines, followed by manual finishing.

The upcycling course “Pescatori di olive” aims to customize one or more garments (T-shirt or sweatshirt) brought by the participant. During the Fade Out Label Atelier workshop, a selection of techniques for customizing old garments through the use of netting will be presented: Inlay, Application, and Patchwork.

The aim of the course is to provide students with:

• Creativity – transforming discarded materials into something unique and handmade.
• Awareness – manual work helps reduce stress and find new creative solutions.
• Sustainability – creating your own accessories instead of relying on mass-produced goods.
• Community – joining a group of creative artisans who share techniques and inspirations.

In addition to practical skills, this upcycling workshop embraces creativity, patience, and the joy of creating something with your own hands.
