I.F.T.S. EcoDesigner

I.F.T.S. ECODESIGNER Green Fashion Designer Technician for Sustainable Clothing
(project code 315114)
specialisation in Techniques for the artisanal production of Made in Italy products

The Green Fashion Designer Technician will be able to design and create new clothing models or redesign existing ones, select materials, assess the energy efficiency of production processes, and identify optimal solutions for the entire product life cycle.

All this with the aim of promoting environmental sustainability and respect for nature. The technical focus will also include social sustainability, workplace safety, and foreign languages. Only a properly trained professional will be able to oversee the entire product life cycle: for these reasons, IFTS ECODESIGNER provides a structured pathway consisting of 12 training units, with trainers coming from the professional, educational, and university sectors, and is based on the real analysis of the needs of Tuscan companies, which also require a return to the artisanal skills typical of the Florentine textile tradition and Made in Italy.

At the level of the supply chain sectors, the professional will be able to operate in the textile-clothing sector, as well as in footwear and leather goods, creating synergies between the different sectors and at multiple levels. They will be able to combine the typical artisanal creativity of Made in Italy with new CAD and digital technologies (such as 3D printing and non-systemic production methods) for product and process innovation, while maintaining a focus on the use of ecological and non-polluting materials, as well as continuously exploring new approaches to product design in line with emerging fashion and brand trends.
