The course is completely free of charge, as it is financed by the resources of the POR FSE TOSCANA 2014–2020 and is part of Giovanisì (www.giovanisi.it), the Tuscany Region’s project for youth autonomy.

LA FABBRICA DELLE IDEE S.R.L., in collaboration with the Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio, the University of Florence – Department of Architecture, the Art High School of Porta Romana and Sesto Fiorentino, and Tessilnova di Claudio Grisolini e C. S.n.c., organizes the following free course for the fashion supply chain:

The aim of the course is to train technicians capable of developing synergy between craftsmanship and industry within companies, managing all stages of product development—from conception to prototyping, and the development of fashion samples and subsequent collections—using support from new technologies such as 3D printers and software capable of reproducing all developed elements at scale. The technician will be able to combine the distinctive detailing of garments with mass production processes, including fashion accessories. Across the different sectors of the production chain, they will be able to operate in textiles, apparel, footwear, and leather goods, fostering cross-sector and multi-level synergies.

• General and technical English – 32 hours
• Fashion design – 92 hours
• Prototype development and construction – 80 hours
• Communication, marketing and brand analysis – 64 hours
• General and technical IT – 32 hours
• Product industrialisation – 48 hours
• Collection design and development – 54 hours
• Fashion design software – 60 hours
• Graphic tools for fashion – 56 hours
• Health and safety in the workplace (D.Lgs. 81/08) – 12 hours
• Internship – 240 hours
• Career guidance – 30 hours

IFTS Specialisation Certificate in “Techniques for the Craft Production of Made in Italy Products”, corresponding to European EQF Level 4, and professional qualification certificate as “Technician for the Development of New or Existing Clothing Patterns”, subject to passing the final examination. A Declaration of Learning Outcomes will be issued for students who do not pass the qualification exam (pursuant to Regional Decree DGR 532/09). In addition, subject to final assessment, up to 12 university credits (CFU) may be recognised by the University of Florence (UNIFI) – Department of Architecture (Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, L-4 Class).
