Haute Couture Embroidery – Lunéville Embroidery

Instructor: Franca Verteramo

Lunéville crochet embroidery is the technique most widely used in Haute Couture. Compared to needle embroidery, the Lunéville technique allows for faster and more precise applications of beads and sequins.

The work is carried out on the reverse side of the fabric stretched on a frame, using a crochet hook to create a chain stitch that secures different materials, such as beads and sequins, one by one. It is commonly known as Lunéville embroidery, a technique patented by the French but not exclusive to their tradition.

The course is designed for those approaching this technique for the first time, providing the foundations for a successful execution of Haute Couture embroidery. Speed is achieved through practice, but participants will be able to obtain good results from the beginning.
