Fondazione Lisio and Weekend Max Mara: A Partnership of Excellence
The Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio is proud to announce its collaboration with Weekend Max Mara for the exclusive "Italian Roots" capsule collection, a chapter celebrating the tenth anniversary of the famous Pasticcino Bag. For the fifth stop of its celebrated World Tour, the iconic bag returns to its origins, Italy, choosing the manufacturing excellence of the Fondazione Lisio to shape six special, numbered editions.

The brocatelles woven for the "Italian Roots" Pasticcino Bag are the result of complex aesthetic and technical research, designed to evoke the soul and architecture of the Tuscan Renaissance.
This partnership fully embodies the mission that the Fondazione Lisio has pursued for over fifty years: keeping the ancient Italian textile tradition alive by fostering a dialogue with the languages of global fashion.
Seeing our fabrics, historically linked to a great artistic tradition, reinterpreted in such an iconic and contemporary design object as the Pasticcino Bag proves that fine craftsmanship does not belong to the past, but is a living, continuously evolving art form.

Ranging from painterly, delicate tones to more daring geometric motifs, the jacquard fabrics chosen for this new Pasticcino Bag feature a variety of designs that evoke the ornate facades, interiors, and ceilings that adorn Tuscany’s historic monuments and palazzos.
These include a floor-inspired wave pattern in marble white, or a striking mix of burnt brown, black, white, and gray; bold stripes reminiscent of facades and columns; a wavy design in Renaissance pink; a graphic square motif echoing coffered ceilings, and geometric polka dots in classic black and white.
The iconic boule clasps are crafted from the finest marbles by Budri, a specialized company founded in 1961. The range of colors and shades varies from white and ivory Carrara marbles to licorice black and deep green tones. This dialogue between marble and fabric creates sophisticated combinations with a high visual impact.

The marble and the sumptuous fabrics are masterfully paired, creating visually engaging yet sophisticated combinations that play with textures.
The large and medium Pasticcino Bags will also feature a marble insert along the silver or bronzed metal trim of the closure, a signature detail that defines this unique, playful bag.
True collector’s items. The Pasticcino World Tour "Italian Roots" Bags will be launched in May 2026 with a
dedicated event.
