LA FABBRICA DELLE IDEE S.R.L., in collaboration with the Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio, the State Art High School of Porta Romana and Sesto Fiorentino, the University of Florence – Department of Architecture (Design Campus), and Arti 21 Srl, organizes a free course for the fashion supply chain:
I.F.T.S. “Stylist 4.0” Product development in the apparel system
The aim of the course is to train technicians capable of developing synergy between craftsmanship and industry within companies, overseeing all stages of product development, from concept and prototyping to the development of fashion samples and the subsequent collection, using support from new technologies such as 3D printers, as well as software capable of reproducing all developed elements in series.The technician will be able to combine the uniqueness of garment details with mass production, including fashion accessories. Across different segments of the supply chain, they will be able to operate in the textile, apparel, footwear, and leather goods sectors, creating synergies between these areas at multiple levels.
Course content:
- FROM IDEA TO DESIGN – 110 hours
- TECHNICAL ENGLISH – 24 hours
- GARMENT DESIGN SOFTWARE – 72 hours
- COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION LAUNCH – 100 hours
- MARKETING AND PRODUCT INDUSTRIALIZATION – 100 hours
- PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT AND MANUFACTURING – 100 hours
- FUNDAMENTALS OF DIGITAL FASHION ARCHIVING – 16 hours
- WORKPLACE SAFETY – 8 hours
- INTERNSHIP – 240 hours
- ORIENTATION – 30 hours






Final certification
IFTS specialization certificate corresponding to European EQF Level IV, and a professional qualification certificate as “Technician for the development of new or existing clothing models” subject to passing the final examination.
A Learning Outcomes Statement will be issued for students who do not pass the qualification exam (pursuant to Regional Decree DGR 532/09).
In addition, upon final evaluation, up to 12 university credits (CFU) may be recognized by the University of Florence (UNIFI) – Department of Architecture, Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design (Class L4).

The course is entirely free of charge, funded by the POR FSE TOSCANA 2014–2020 resources and included in the Giovanisì programme (www.giovanisi.it), the Tuscany Region project for youth independence.

Selection for admission
In the event that eligible applications exceed the available places, a selection process will be held on 9 and 10 October 2018, at 9:30 a.m. at the premises of the training agency La Fabbrica Delle Idee Srl, Largo Torricelli 7, Pieve al Toppo – 52041 Civitella in Val di Chiana (AR).
The selection will consist of a CV screening (20%), psycho-attitudinal test (20%), IT test (20%), basic English test (10%), and motivational interview (30%).
The final ranking will take into account a reserve of 4 places for gender equality and 1 place for equal opportunities.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
28 September 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
If applications are fewer than the expected number of places, the call for applications will be reopened at a later stage until all available spots are filled.

October 2018 – June 2019, with compulsory attendance and free of charge.
