Il corso, tenuto presso il paese di Calascio in Abruzzo, verterà sul corretto metodo per la tintura naturale con coloranti estratti da piante tintorie tradizionali e autoctone, permettendo quindi di ottenere una palette di colori unica legata al territorio, in seconda battuta si studieranno sulla particolarità chimica dell’indaco e le relative modalità di estrazione e utilizzo in tintura.

The course enhances local resources (plant fibres and wool from Central Italy) through traditional textile techniques. The programme combines the rediscovery of historical gestures and patterns with personal experimentation, promoting awareness of cultural heritage and the value of raw materials.

“Art Screen Printing” is a workshop designed to rediscover and pass on an ancient printing technique that originated over a century ago within the field of textile decoration. In a region historically connected to these practices, which are now in gradual decline, the workshop serves as an active initiative for preserving a technical and artistic knowledge at risk of being lost.

The nuno felting workshop is a creative space where fabric and wool come together to create unique, lightweight, and tactile materials.

“Collective Embroidery” is a creative workshop where writing and embroidery come together to explore personal memories and create shared narratives.

The upcycling course “Pescatori di olive”, held in the village of Calascio in Abruzzo, aims to customize one or more garments (T-shirt or sweatshirt) brought by the participant. During the Fade Out Label Atelier workshop, a selection of techniques for customizing old garments through the use of netting will be presented: Inlay, Application, and Patchwork.

"Mountain Knitwear: Contemporary Designs with Abruzzo Wools and Vintage Machinery" is an intermediate-level knitting course. It focuses on reconstructing rural mountain patterns using locally produced Abruzzo wools – naturally dyed with botanical pigments – and vintage double-bed manual knitting machines salvaged from the secondhand market.

The course includes a total of n° 900 hours, of which n° 414 hours of classroom training, n° 96 hours of laboratory work, n° 30 hours of collective/individual orientation, and n° 360 hours of internship in sector companies. The course aims to train pattern makers with high tailoring skills, also capable of designing the product. The course is entirely free of charge as it is funded by the Tuscany Region through resources from the PR FSE+ Toscana 2021-2027.

The course explores the richness of traditional Abruzzo weaving through the analysis of historical artefacts from Calascio, teaching participants how to interpret local craftsmanship techniques in order to reproduce and customise an infinite variety of decorative patterns using locally sourced yarns.

Rediscover the ancient and skilled craft of creating padded textiles. In this workshop dedicated to slow craftsmanship, you will learn traditional techniques to create a handmade piece that evokes the warmth of home and the essence of nature.

The course “Colour, Composition and Natural Resist Printing” combines colour theory with hands-on laboratory experience: participants create an archive of 200 shades starting from the primary colours, inspired by the landscapes of Abruzzo. Observations carried out at the Orto Botanico di San Colombo provide the foundation for practical applications. The final artworks, created through contemporary resist printing techniques, use bindings, folds, and stitching on wool and silk, materials with deep historical roots in the region.

A workshop where tradition meets the energy of contemporary reuse. The iconic and colourful Abruzzo wool blankets meet deconstructed and reassembled vintage jeans through patchwork techniques, giving life to unique accessories and small garments, rich in texture and history.

To teach participants the fundamentals of an ethical design method, rethinking fashion production systems starting from locally available resources through conscious design. Final objective: Creating supply chains aligned with local resources and sustainability principles.
